It Begins Again

We picked up the keys to the new location today. Yep, we are moving. We apologize to everyone in advance that have gone through the tribulations of finding our hidden little brewery, but this has been bigger than we ever imagined.

In order to accommodate all of our guests and the amount of production we need, along with a variety of other reasons, we have decided to relocate. It is in the same industrial park so for all of our local support, no worries.

We are hoping that we will be able to do this without adversely affecting our current operations until the actual move date but we will keep you posted. Thank you to all who have continued to support us and we hope to make the new location even more enjoyable.

Growler Test

As many of you are aware, we took quite a while before we started doing growler fills. This was for a number of reasons but first and foremost among these is the fact that since our beer is only available in our tasting room, we wanted to make sure that any beer "to go" was as close to as good as it is right off the taps. I found some faucet adapters called the "Bowie Bottler" and rigged up filling wands similar to the principal of bottle fillers where the beer is filled from the bottom under presssure.

We have now been using these for around a month and I happen to have a couple of bottles at home that were filled four weeks ago to the day. Just as carbonated as it was when it was bottled with no discernable off flavors. So far so good. I will try the other bottle in another month or two and let you know. Here is an image of the Extra Pale Ale for your enjoyment (actually for mine :-D).

On another note, I don't think we mention this very often but since our beer is not pastuerized and not filtered, it should ALWAYS be kept cold and will not hold up to shipping well either.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Our first Saint Patrick's Day as I & I Brewing has arrived. Jacqui told me I needed to make a green beer. I told her that is not gonna happen (at least not with green dye). However,  in order to celebrate St Pats, I prepared a special beer for the day: Corned Beef and Cabbage Stout. Yeah, I know it sounds messed up but I have been wanting to make a "savory" beer so this was a good opportunity. Salt, pepper, beef bullion and cabbage all in the boil. Not enough to make it overpowering, just a hint of all the flavors at the back. Come give it a try today as we only made a very small amount of it (even I thought it might be horrific).

Please, be safe today and if you are out drinking take a designated driver with you.

Growlers and Other Stuff

So it has been a while since we last posted on anything on our Blog. I think that mostly has to do with the fact that this year February had the wrong number of days. Since most of you haven't seen them, I thought I would post a pic of our growlers, which will be available in the tasting room very soon:

We have been awfully busy at I & I: I have finally started to catch up with the demand and we are now are back to 14 beers on tap with a few more ready to serve soon; We just started to use larger kettles which will help with this as well; We have started to stock up on grains and hops and are in process of setting up our hop contracts for next year; We will likely start attending the upcoming anniversaries and festivals, so you just might see our beer outside of the tasting room on a limited basis as well.

We are working on a number of other things in the near future as well, but I will just leave those for surprises if and when they happen.

On another note, one of our patrons brought us an I & I inspired gift so I just had to share:

Thank You

We just have to say thank you to all of you who have come and visited and supported us.  We have just completed our first month and the reception has been fantastic. A number of taps have been emptied and our selection as of this morning is down to six beers. Don't worry though, we have a number of beers in the works (some of them not seen here yet) and are working diligently to bring our variety back up to the way we like it. We have also temporarily run out of glasses so make sure to bring yours in with you have it. We will have more in a week or two.

Once again thank you for sharing with us and we hope to see you all again soon and throughout the year.

What a Great First Night!

Wow. What a night last night was. We were busy from 4 o'clock on. A very very special THANK YOU goes out to these ladies who poured for us (and you) all night:

Standing room only in the tasting room:

Even the brewery was filled throughout the evening.

Thank you to everyone who came and shared this with us last night and thank you for being patient as we are still in our learning curve. We hope you enjoyed the beer and we will see you again soon.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Since this will be our first day open to the public, we have no idea of what to expect so please bear with us if we have a few hiccups.

We will be taking credit cards via square, but if it is busy we would really prefer cash to streamline the flow at the counter.

We will be serving "small" and "large" tastes. Currently, we don't do dishes, so we serve in plastic. If you would like to be served in glass, purchase an I & I Brewing glass and we will serve in that. Save it and bring it back clean during your future visits.

Our tap list is available on our website, but we also have a few beers up our sleeves.

Growlers are not currently being filled, but they will be available in the near future.

We look forward to meeting you all.

Cheers
